Sylfirm X

Sylfirm X is the newest radio frequency microneedling device available in Canada. It differs from other machines in that it can deliver continuous waves and short bursts of radiofrequency (heat energy). This key difference allows us to treat your skin for multiple concerns such as eyelid hooding, brown spots, acne scars, wrinkles, and blood vessels with minimal downtime and pain compared to other older machines on the market.

How does Sylfirm X work?

Using an electronically controlled hand piece, the system uses 25 ultrafine gold plated needles to pierce the skin and deliver radio frequency energy (heat) below the skin’s surface without damaging the outer layer of the skin. The system applies a precise energy level with each pass to ensure the RF microneedling penetrates to the correct depth to provide optimal results. The controlled micro-injuries created by the treatment result in upregulation in collagen production. This increase in collagen production leads to tighter, younger-looking skin.

Who is a good candidate for Sylfirm X?

Sylfirm X is suitable for all skin types and ages if you are in good health, have early signs of aging, have realistic expectations, and are looking to treat the following:

• Skin rejuvenation: Wrinkles, enlarged pores, rhytides, fine lines, and skin laxity

• Scars: Atrophic scars, acne scars, stretch marks, and hypertrophic scars

• Body rejuvenation: Double chin, turkey neck, and decolletage

How many Sylfirm X treatments are needed?

Many patients will see visible improvement in their skin within just one treatment. Depending on the specific patient and their goals, up to five treatments may be recommended.

Before Your Treatment

• A full assessment is performed before your treatment to determine your needs.

• Schedule your treatment at least one week before any important event.

• If you get a breakout (acne or cold sore) in the treatment area, reschedule your appointment until it’s cleared up.

• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil and Aleve for one week before treatment.

  
  

During Your Treatment

• Arrive at the office with your face washed and without makeup

• A numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area to ensure minimal discomfort

• Most treatments are performed in under one hour

After Your Treatment

• Slightly warm pink skin which will resolve within 24 hours

• Some dry, peeling patches in treatment areas for 3-5 days

• You will avoid makeup for 24 hours, then return to normal skin care and makeup routine
