Dysport/Botox
Botox injections use a toxin called onobotulinumtoxinA to temporarily prevent a muscle from moving. In aesthetics, it prevents dynamic wrinkles.
The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes.
Botox injections are also used to treat other conditions such as neck spasms (cervical dystonia), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), migraines, an overactive bladder, gastroparesis and lazy eye.
Effects of Botox typically last for 3 to 6 months, while results vary from person to person.
Things to know before your Botox appointment
Before the day of your appointment, avoid alcoholic beverages.
Avoid any substances that affect platelet function, such as aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., Advil, Motrin), and supplements of fish oil, vitamin E, and St. John’s Wort. These substances may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal creams in the area of treatment.
Do not apply makeup in the area of treatment before the appointment.
Inform us if you have any allergies, chances of being pregnant, any neurological or autoimmune diseases.
Post-treatment care after receiving Botox injections
Avoid bending down or rubbing/touching the area for several hours after the treatment. Facial exercise in the treatment area is recommended [frown/smile for 1 hour].
However, avoid excess manipulation of the area the first four-hours after procedure (massage, heavy make-up).
Treatment effect may take 3-8 days to appear. However, manufacturer suggest to wait 2 weeks for maximum results.
The benefits last for 3-6months.
Please book a follow-up appointment in 1-2 weeks so we can address any concerns that you might have or any touch ups.

Dermal Fillers
There are several different types of dermal fillers. We use Hyaluronic Acid fillers because they are dissolvable. Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat.
Hyaluronic acid injections are used to improve the skin's contour and reduce depressions due to scars, injury, lines, wrinkles.
What dermal fillers can do:
-
plump thin lips
-
improve the appearance of scars
-
soften facial creases and wrinkles
-
enhance shallow contours
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar that keeps our skin hydrated and creates volume through its ability to bind water molecules.
However, as we age, our bodies make less hyaluronic acid. Our skin begins to sag and look thinner, losing its radiance and youthful appearance. Injecting hyaluronic acid can help reduce the visible signs of aging.
Things to know before your Filler appointment
-
Tell your provider if you have any severe allergies with a history of severe reactions, are allergic to lidocaine or gram positive bacterial proteins used to make hyaluronic acid, prone to bleeding or have a bleeding disorder.
-
The safety of use while pregnant or breastfeeding has not been studied
-
Tell your provider if you have a history of scarring or pigmentation disorders as these side effects can occur with hyaluronic acid fillers
-
Tell your provider if you are taking any medication that would lower your immune response or affect bleeding, such as aspirin or warfarin, as these medications may increase the risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection site
After receiving Fillers
-
The most common side effects are swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache, tenderness, lump formation, itching at the injection site;
-
Serious but rare side effects include delayed onset of infections, recurrence of herpetic eruptions and superficial necrosis at the injection site.
-
The risk of unintentional injection into a blood vessel is small but can occur and could result in serious complications (vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, scarring). We have a strict protocol that we use in case of vascular occlusions.
-
As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy, also known as "biorejuvenation" or "biorevitalization" is a technique used to rejuvenate skin by means of a transdermal injection of a multivitamin solution and natural plant extracts that improve skin texture.
Mesotherapy can be used to address dehydration, reduce cellulite, fade wrinkles and lines, tighten loose skin, recontour the body, lighten pigmented skin and treat alopecia (a condition that causes hair loss). The technique uses fine needles to deliver multiple injections into the middle layer of your skin.
At LaSalle Medical Aesthetics, we use the advanced U225 mesotherapy device and Pluryal Mesoline serums to provide relatively painless treatments, faster recovery, and best results.
Treatment sessions can take between 20-40 minutes depending on the are being injected.
Side effects are usually very limited and in most cases coverable with makeup. Tiny purple dots will appear at some if the injection sites, but these disappear quickly.
There are very few contraindications to mesotherapy (eg: allergy to product ingredients, pregnancy, taking blood thinners) and it is suitable for all skin types.

PRP
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is blood plasm that has been enriched with platelets, also know as "liquid gold". It contains growth factors and cytokines that stimulate collagen formation, revascularization and healing of bone and soft tissue, and tissue rejuvenation free of side effects .
-
PRP is a non surgical procedure that can be used to treat acne scars, surgical scars, hyperpigmentation issues, uneven and dull skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles, alopecia, sports injuries, nail disorders.
-
Recommended protocol is 3-4 sessions at 4-6 week interval.
-
Improvement in skin texture is seen in the first month. Maximum collagen regeneration occurs around 3 months after the initial treatment. Results are typically maintained for 18-24 months.
-
With virtually no downtime needed and being a relatively safe technique with very little chance of reaction to the plasma, this procedure is idea for anyone who is worried about injecting foreign substances into their body.
-
Procedure: blood is drawn from the patient and then centrifuged which separated the high concentration platelets from the rest of blood components; the PRP is extracted and by the use of U225 gun that we use for mesotherapy, reintroduced in the mid layers of the skin.
-
Benefits and risks: increase tissue regeneration; decrease inflammation; increase collagen; increase angiogenesis (development of new blood cells); stimulate hair follicles.
-
Risks are similar to mesotherapy- slight redness post procedure that goes away quickly
-
Treatment duration: 20-40 minutes depending on the area treated
-
Pain level: minimal with the U 225 device and topical numbing cream (most patients tolerate treatment very well without numbing cream);
